Crabs + Computers + Beautiful Music = Inspiration!

Crabs + Computers + Beautiful Music = Inspiration!

This is SO far from the world of scrapbooking, but is inspiring none the less….

I’ll have a separate post explaining my long absence, but for now, watch and be amazed!

What has inspired you lately?

Don’t Give Up On Your (Scrapbook) Dreams

Don’t Give Up On Your (Scrapbook) Dreams

Still trying to get back into the swing….finished the digital scrapbook course from the ScrapGirls. Now I need to practice practice practice.

Meanwhile, I seem to be in the ‘seeking inspiration’ mode. Thank God for Tiny Buddha! Every day I get something inspiring in my IN box. I wish I could be that prolific, but, alas….one-woman-show…yada yada yada….

I was inspired to take some of the Scrapgirls beautiful papers and make an infographic….I still have a long way to go, but I think I might just noodle around with these until I get my digital chops.Continue reading

Watched A Really Mind Blowing Movie Last Night

I’m Back, But Not Scrapbooking Yet.

I’m Back, But Not Scrapbooking Yet.

So after an all too brief battle with pancreatic cancer, my colleague at work mercifully died in her sleep last Saturday. She will be missed.

I still don’t seem to have the motivation to scrap right now. But I know that it will come back to me soon.

Meanwhile, despite ignoring the site for a ridiculously long time (and seriously contemplating selling it)…I was shocked to discover one of my pages went viral. It’s the one with the video about making cute origami scrapbooking affirmations.

Last Saturday, I had nearly 3000 visitors. Wow.

Since that post was about the origami part of the equation, I thought I’d at least do a post about the affirmation part. You can see some of the best affirmations here.

Here’s hoping life is treating you well. Let me know if there’s a scrapbooking topic you’d like me to tackle….because right now, I’m at a loss. Comments, as always are welcome.

Best Affirmations For Life (I Mean Scrapbooking)

When looking for the best affirmations to use for the wildly popular post on making origami scrapbooking stars, I looked no further than the master himself….Tony Robbins. Usually, I can only take him in small doses, but man those doses pack a punch. So here for you are some of Tony’s best affirmations:Continue reading

Continuing Scrapbooking Absence

Continuing Scrapbooking Absence

I have been absent lately.
Not only here on the blog but in other areas of my life. It’s a survival tactic that I’m allowing myself right now because I need it.

I have a colleague here at work who is dying of pancreatic cancer.
It has put a general numbing effect on my an the rest of the team (there are 5 of us).

She has made the bold choice to forgo treatment. It’s a very unpopular choice with her family, especially one of her kids. He’s very angry and lashing out.

Isn’t it strange how ill prepared we are to face death? I mean, we all know it’s coming. For each and every one of us. You would think by now we’d have come up with some standard or ‘acceptable’ methods of dealing with it.

I tend to withdraw when I grieve. My process is very internal and private.
It’s also draining. And yet the world does not stop spinning, and people at work still expect you to perform.

It leaves me with very little energy for things like blogging.
Sorry, but I’m just not there yet.

Apologies For No Posts

Apologies For No Posts

Just a quick update as to why the frilly heck I’ve been absent.cracked ribs

Turns out that gardening in my yard last weekend resulted in some cracked ribs for me.

Today was the first day since then where I could sneeze and cough at full strength.

Oy.

So for now, I’m healing and laying low while I recover.
