Confessions Of A Scattered Mind : Anyone Seen My Missing Mojo?

“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. ~ Robert McCloskey

This is semi off-topic as this post is not about scrapbooking ideas or the latest and greatest scrapbooking product….just the state of my highly scattered mind of late.

It’s hard for me to break decades worth of habitual thinking, but I’m finding that I really need to try because, dammit, I’m not getting anything DONE! I’m flitting from thing to thing, and solving everyone elses’ problems and am consequently completely scattered when it comes to my own #$%^@.

Welcome to my life out of balance. <sheesh>

I think I’m simply overwhelmed with everything. My soul-sucking day job took a turn for the worse, which affected my energy to deal with  hacked websites, and don’t get me started on everything that needs to be done around the house and garden. The spring weeds are taking over!

A while back someone at work recommended a great book to me by David Allen called Getting Things Done. It’s one of those life-altering change-your-way-of-thinking books that’s so valuable, you read it over and over and get more out of it each time. It’s time for me to revisit that book and get my life back!

So here’s my attempted plan:

No more multitasking.

Focus on one thing at a time.

Prioritize a post-it list of no more than 4 items to complete the next day.

Do this for 30 days to develop the new habit.

Rinse, Repeat.

And viola’ …Mojo and Balance returned.
