Digital Scrapbooking App : My First Five Years

Digital Scrapbooking App : My First Five Years

There are a number of up-and coming digital scrapbooking apps out there these days and I’m sure we’ll see many more to come.

I hope to get some time to actually review some of them. This one comes from the creative and visually stunning mind of Anne Geddes.

Digital Scrapbooking App

Think of the My First Five Years app as digital scrapbooking for capturing those moments like your kids first smile, first step, first word, and other instances that you know needs a special home. In addition to just organizing pictures, My First Five Years lets users keep a record of your child’s early education with the Preshool and Kindergarten pages, record valuable information about vaccinations, health and dental visits, and record audio like your child’s favorite lullaby or a special message from other family members.

You can also save multiple books so every child has their own book with their special moments inside. At any time, you can present your book to your family and friends as a beautiful slideshow, or share pages online. At $14.99 in the Mac App Store, My First Five Years is pricey, but worth the investment if you’re looking for ONE PLACE for your child’s early memories.

As much as I love the craftiness of working with paper and all the embellishments that are the bread and butter of traditional scrapbooking, there’s also a certain appeal of going digital. Especially if your photos are already starting out in the digital world. Plus, if you have family in remote parts of the country (or world), sharing your scrapbook with them digitally is sometimes the best way to go.
Which camp are you in? Digital, or Paper, or perhaps a hybrid of the two? Do you have a favorite digital scrapbooking app? Share your comments below.
